Together with iPod(all three lines ) update, Apple just released the new iTunes 7 with some nice new features as well as an new interface and icon.
Here is the new icon:
Coverflow View:
Album Art view
Video window with floating control
Here is my serious review:
1. I dont like that new icon, though it is just a color theme change.
2. With the Coverflow view feature, Apple just kill another third party app with the exactly same name "coverflow" and same function! Yes, Apple does it again!
(It seems that i was a little bit wrong this time and Apple behived in a better way--Buy it!:
CoverFlow
We are pleased to announce that all CoverFlow technology and intellectual property was recently sold to Apple. It has been incorporated into the latest version of iTunes. Please visit www.apple.com/itunes)
3. I may raise a burning question: will Leopard go along with the new iTunes interface design? If you take close look at these shots, you may get what i mean: the scroolbar!!! yes, i dont like it either. It is more like Gnome under linux!
4. The iTunes will get the missing cover art for you from iTunes Store, that's cool! well only if you get a iTunes Store Account, which is impossible in Singapore now! Damn it!
5. I like the new iPod manage interface, which i forgot to take shot, it makes the life with iPod a lot more easier.
BTW, I dont like the new iPod nano design, which is exactly the same design from iPod mini! This is good news for me, a nano owner, because i dont feel pity about buying nano earlier, though the price has dropped a lot!
but, but, i like those two new iPod software feature: fast scroll and instant search. I am just thinking will Apple release an new ipod updater for older iPod nano to let them have that features? Hope so!
